We'd driven past many times and even remember when it was first opening, so had it on our radar to try at some point.
The service was very attentive and very professional. We were seated immediately, got drinks and food orders exactly when we wanted them taken and everything arrived in a timely manner too. After eating we asked for the bill, was given it and paid without unnecessary delay as well.
The food was exceptional. From starters, to mains and sides. Everything tasted as well as you'd hope. I had a vegetarian main and could tell the vegetables used were fresh and delicious, with everything cooked to perfection. The only criticism was from my partner who felt they'd used too much oil, but that was her opinion and not mine.
If like us you've seen it and we're curious, then I'd recommend giving it a go. It's definitely got a lot going for it and I'd go back again in the future.
Vegetarian options: There was one vegetarian special. But also a small vegetarian section with with things like Saag Aloo, and all the curries had a vegetable option.
Dietary restrictions: Food was clearly marked as Gluten free.

Having been a regular at many Indian restaurants over the years, Anila Indian Restaurant at Ambergate has to be one of the best I've had the pleasure to dine at!...the cuisine, the service, ambiance and the staff are truly superb!
Well done and thank you for your fantastic food.

Incredible food, with really friendly staff, who couldn’t do any more for you if they tried. Really good with catering to individual requests (eg level of spiciness you prefer etc.)
Overall a very positive experience and would definitely return. Highly recommend.
(This was a party of 7 people and there was not a single complaint)

Food was excellent. Atmosphere was great. Decor was top notch. Felt very relaxed in the place. Staff were very friendly and pleasant. On your birthday, they come and sing to you and give you a birthday cake which is a nice touch. Definitely will be returning.

We arrived at Anila in our moment of need having broken down and with 2 cold, tired hungry children having been waiting over 2 hours for breakdown services. The staff could not have been more warm and welcoming and really looked after us and were so hospitable and kind. Cannot wait to go back another day and try the food properly, but the poppadoms and welcoming staff were absolutely wonderful! Thank you to you all for your kindness x

The atmosphere was incredible, the lights were dimmed perfectly for the mood and the waiters were very polite and told us about the dishes when serving them. The food was impeccable and was served quickly and each course served in perfect time. I personally loved the onion bhaji was the perfect texture and so crispy and seasoned to perfection. The strawberry mocktail was so sweet and so delicious. Would definitely visit again

Our second visit after the first was so good. Fantastic food, each dish had it's own taste and flavours. Unlike so many Indian restaurants where most dishes use the same sauce. The staff were brilliant, we had a long chat with the owner and understand the difficulties they have experienced along the way. A very nice chap. An finally some really good coffee, unusual for and Indian restaurant. All in all a most enjoyable evening.

Love this restaurant. Food was very tasty, if a tad pricey, but worth it. Loads of staff, some youngsters being trained up so service was extremely efficient - excellent considering it was a Friday evening and very busy. Was in a party of 5, loved the table, Decor is very smart. Bit noisy generally as there were so many customers and a small hen 'do' but nothing over intrusive. Don't sell beers on tap, just some bottled beer, so encouraged to take your own. 5 empty plates and 5 happy customers. Would definitely recommend.

Yesterday we got the chance to go to the soft launch for the restaurant, we have been having takeaways from here since it first opened as the food is always excellent. Eating in the restaurant was even more incredible, you could tell how fresh the food was, there was a great amount of meat in all of the curries and the portion sizes were very good. We had the mushroom and chicken tikka purée which we had not tried before and they were excellent, will certainly have these again. All of the food was beautifully presented and the interior was lovely. All of the staff were lovely and we felt well treated, nothing seemed like an issue at all. I planned to surprise my mum on our visit and they made sure it was kept a secret and the surprise worked out well, they even put a candle in our cakes for our birthdays and gave us a box of chocolates. When I have a great dining experience I want to make sure everyone knows so they can support this local business too. My family can not wait to return already, thank you Anila team!!
